Brandon Knight to be out ‘awhile’
Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:
Assistant coach Brian Hill later confirmed what was apparent — Knight won’t quickly recover from a left sprained ankle he suffered Monday night at Utah.
"He’s got pretty good swelling in it still," Hill said at the Sports Club/LA. "It’s probably going to be something that’s going to take awhile."
If you’re looking for a positive slant to the injury – besides the Pistons’ lottery odds improving – Keith Langlois of Pistons.com has you covered:
BK7 is off his crutches and going through some rehab drills with Arnie Kander and Andre Drummond post shootaround

Let them rest. We need to lose more for a higher draft pick.
But at least play a few games before ending the season.

Just by losing yesterday (percentage wise) the Pistons moved from 9th up to 6th in the draft. With their up coming schedule and injuries, moving up a couple more spots doesn’t seem out of reach. Hopefully they’ll end up in the 3 or 4 spot.

I’d be glad if we can end up with the 4th worst record which will give us the following chances in the lottery:
11.9% - 1st pick
12.6% – 2nd pick
13.3% – 3rd pick
9.9% – 4th pick
35.1% – 5th pick
This is the order i’d choose obviously depending on which pick we end up with:
Ben McLemore
Otto Porter
Victor Oladipo
Anthony Bennett
Marcus Smart
Shabazz Muhammad
Trey Burke
Nerlens Noel (he’s down here mainly because we’ve already got Drummond. If he was still on the board when we pick then i’d look to trade the pick).

In regards to Noel i obviously meant we’d choose him and then trade down with another team that wants him. We could switch picks this year and also ask for a future 1st rounder. We could then select someone like Trey Burke and also have another 1st rounder in the waiting a year or 2 later.
