Not debatable at all. I would save your energy being concerned with every 2nd round talent being wasted riding the pine in the NBA. They have lower ceilings, are less of a financial commitment, and are overall the lowest priority on a team. I get that you don’t make it to the NBA if you are straight up bad at basketball, but if a team is going to allocate time for experience and growth it is going to be to players that they invested more in and have more to lose on. That’s just how it goes.

A second round draft pick who can’t get on the floor has no value. This is not debatable.

I truly hope we don’t trade Middleton unless we get something really valuable in return. He has not been able to prove much as he barely played 22 minutes in the whole season, but I see much potential in him. I think he could be a decent scorer in this league, he has a good hand and can score easily, he really doesn´t need to take that many shots to get a bucket. It remembers me of Rip Hamiltonin their first years in the league.

This is a “trade value” ranking, not a “potential NBA success” or “top players” or “how much fans like him” ranking. So yes, Khris Middleton does not have much value.

So, because the coach hasn’t played Middleton, we ignore what he did with those 22 minutes spread out over 5 games? The value of that article smacks of political bally-hoo. The coach doesn’t use him (during a rebuild) and the writer doesn’t like him, so not only don’t the fans get an opportunity to judge for themselves, but we get bias reporting on the direction of this young man’s career. Thanks Mr. Feldman.
