Who wouldn't want any of these three coaches back now? I think Joe thought that his team was good enough that any coach could win with them, which brought us to Michael Curry. After that, nobody wanted to come here because of the revovling door at the coaching position.

Flip Saunders was probably the most technically proficient coach the Pistons have had. But that team was just too headstrong for him to handle. They would play his way in the regular season when they didn't care. But in spite of seeing how well his system worked, they didn't trust him and played their own way in the playoffs. Another title would've been tough anyway, but the Pistons' players shot themselves in the foot.

In short, any head coach should wish to have Flip on his team. But yeah, he doesn't have a commanding enough persona to run the show for just any team.

Carisle was Awesome (my favorite)
Larry Brown won a title (awesome)
Flip Saunders was cool, but or team was arrogant (need a stronger personality)
Any the rest has just been a horrible mess...

Aldridge is 27, he's not "too old".

How long have you been watching basketball? Can you name a team with all sub 25s starters that has even posted even a .500 season? I can't.

I'm just going to throw it out there, but has anyone considered that good coaches don't want to come to Detroit? Joe always sides with the players and is changing over coaches often before they can even institute some change. We always seem to play the same terrible plodding style no matter who the coach is, as if Joe is forcing it down his coaches' throats instead of letting them organically utilize players. Also, let's be honest, prior to Drummond's great rookie year we had no franchise talents that a coach would be excited to work with.

Detroit hasn't been a good environment for coaches since Joe took over.
