Yeah, I hear you. Rivers has been a huge disappointment so far. Gordon's injuries are the primary reason that NO would entertain this.
Talent-wise, Gordon is far better than Stuckey, but the inclusion of Maxiell's $5 million expiring contract and the Piston's lottery pick might make it appealing.

Really, there's no one on the roster short of Drummond and Monroe that I wouldn't part with to make this deal work.

Apparently Thompson-for-Gordon is actually being discussed, but you're right - if GS would take that package, why not just take back Thompson and leave NO out of it...

Eric Gordon was the big acquisition in the Chris Paul trade. By all accounts he was mandatory to get it done. Given that, I seriously doubt that Stuckey would land him. As for Rivers, I think they plan on a 3 guard rotation with him, Gordon, and Vazquez. Besides, Rivers hasn't shown that enough to justify moving Gordon. I know it is extremely limited minutes for him so far, but even in Summer League he didn't look too good. I could see New Orleans getting annoyed with Gordon's injury problems and then looking to trade him, but Maxiell and Stuckey is way under value for him. They might consider it if Brandon Knight got worked in there though.

For goodness sakes, what is the fascination with those two bums for the Kings? If they were so good, wouldn't the Kings be that much better?

Stop smokin' that crazy stuff Chris N. Cousins and Evans is drama we don't need, and them realizing that potential is a pipe dream at best. Get real!

Not sure GSW would jump at this, but: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine/?tradeId=ausxnbl

DET gets: E. Gordon
GSW gets: R. Stuckey, J. Jerebko
NOH gets: K. Thompson, D. Green, A. Biedrins

Depends on whether or not the Warriors would go for Jerebko. He'd be strong with Landry behind Lee and Barnes. And whether they think Stuckey would give enough of a boost - I'd rather have Gordon obviously. Maybe we throw a conditional 1st rounder in (can we add the condition that if we retain our lotto pick this year GSW would get it? It'll be hard to get late lotto pick as good as Monroe/Knight/Drummond, let alone as good as Gordon) and we'd still have the same cap space in the summer to shore up the rotation.

New Orleans wants Klay Thompson and gets a huge expiring contract for next year, so it works for the Pelicans.

The deal we need to make is to acquire Eric Gordon.
He's been severely under the radar with his recent injuries and the fact that, when healthy, he's been playing in New Orleans.
When healthy in LA, he was as a dynamic young shooting guard as there was in the league, better than any of the names that are mentioned in free agency. He can get to the rim with force and reliably hit 3's.

His contract is for 4 years at around $13.5 million, and if New Orleans wants to dump salary and keep playing time available for developing their OTHER first rounder this year, Austin Rivers, then they should have some interest in moving him.

As far as the players we'd give up, the salary works for trading Maxiell and Stuckey, but I suspect we would have to sweeten the deal with a future draft pick.

I just think he addresses our biggest need at the shooting guard and that he is ripe for the picking.
