That team, which was built & coached by Bird, went to the NBA finals and had a .683 record before Isiah got there. Isiah's Pacers finished .500, .512 and .585 and got bounced in the first round every time. Then Carlisle came in and the Pacers went back up to .744 and got to the conference finals. Isiah's teams finished .532, the team before & after finished .714. That's a difference of 15 games! Isiah was 15 games worse than Carlisle and Bird.   Don’t talk about Isiah coaching the Pacers. People seem to always discount what he did with the Pacers. True the Knicks under his watch were a mess, but as a coach I don't think he's worse than what we've had the last few years. Personally, wouldn't mind seeing Lambeer, Sam Mitchell, Avery Johnson, or Mo Cheeks. Mike Brown anyone?
