Great to see the more up tempo Pistons without Prince. Jj lost a big step with that injury. He and his father have little to gripe about. He just hasn't produced. Back to the bench soon it's appears. BK just a kid still I'm surprised he catches so much grief. Great young core I'm becoming optimistic about the future. Go Pistons. If we could only trade I hate frank now for a blogger in the Italian league everything would be perfect.

Daye is a stretch...Jonas is not...and his starting productions backs it...however the past is the Past...if Singler turns into a solid 3 option...who doesnt need to slow the the offense to get him going...then he was clearly the better option....

Like i said... its comes down to who a coach feel comfortable with, 11 years ago we were begging for Tay to replace Curry.....

Isn't that the kind of thinking that causes teams to lose games? I mostly agree that the GM should shape what the coach has to work with. But .. Joe D did claim, at least, that lineup decisions belonged to Frank. So, Frank has to figure out how to win. What some of these comments are saying, which I agree with, is that more games could be won with Prince out of the starting lineup. You know, the old "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" kind of argument.

I am quite ambivalent about these kinds of wins simply because it is not a good measure of effort or progress. Its just a win against an awful Cavs team which means the team is at the top tier of the last third of the NBA. It like being the best JV team, maybe not even that. Being that best lottery team is still more advantageous then being an eighth seed. The difference is not great, we get to keep a pick for next year and there is a slight chance, however remote, of getting the top pick. Losing is still the best way forward, how ironic.
Win or lose, this team is certainly more exciting to watch, if only in anticipation of the hope for the future.
Cant wait for the Jose chants at the palace. Too bad there are only four people in the stands.

speights is exactly the kind of young player who can be acquired by teams that have cap space flexibility and/or who are willing to take on salary.
twice - from philly and now from memphis - he's been moved because of that reason.
he's a solid young player who, imho, just needs to land in the right spot in order to establish his niche.
guys like that are always out there if a team can take on his salary.
hopefully, joe d will understand that new way of acquiring young players and leave cap space available in order to steal young players like that.
regarding knight...it appears that being in proximity to irving just sparks a part of his brain that lies dormant otherwise.
when i first saw those two matched up during either preseason or summer league, knight torched irving. i was convinced that detroit had stolen the better player.
boy, was i wrong.
but what this indicates to me, more than anything, is that knight's issues are entirely mental.
is he capable of overcoming those hurdles?
who knows...but for a guy who is supposedly so freaking smart, he seems to be exceptionally lazy mentally...
unless he is trying to prove a point to the league about irving.

If you're a coach trying to win games, what are you going to do? Play the SF who is arguably playing the best year after year after year or play the SF who is arguably playing the best right now?

After all, none of these guys clearly outplayed Prince. At best, you could make a case that they were doing so. And none of them kept it up for long enough to take this out of Joe's hands.

Thats good to hear, I honestly want the best for Aday and Tayshaun. Btw, why did no one make the obvious headline: Gay, Tay, Daye and Jose trade.

To people it's one game, if Knight and Singler can do this over the next few games then we can talk.
