I think bringing Big Ben back would be great. Vet minimum, and keep him around for practice to teach our big men how to fight and give maximum effort. Ben Wallace is the PERFECT person for Drummond to be around, nobody better to learn from (effort wise) that Big Ben (my favorite piston ever) Obviously Calderon is not here to stay, but like some have mentioned he has a big expiring contract. I think the next thing for us to do now is amnesty Unk Chuck (even though I like his effort this year) he is being paid starter money for bench worthy performance. We will see how B. Knight does with the SG position to finish the year and if he thrives we can use our cap to sign a good PG if hes awful either continue him at the PG and sign a SG or possibly package B. Knight with Maxiell for one of the 2 guard positions we dont fill with free agency. HOWS THIS SOUND FELLERS!!!?

in retrospect, how bad does joe's non-trade of tay a couple of years ago look?
back then, he could have gotten caron butler's 10 million, plus expiring contract and a first round draft choice.
now, he trades tay and a former first rounder for that 9.7 million dollar expiring contract. and nothing else.
shoulda pulled the trigger back then.

lol.
why on earth would portland trade matthews for stuckey.
matthews is a solid vet, a good defender and a good shooter. he's hit a bunch of clutch shots the last two years. and he is relatively cheap, considering what he does.
stuckey is ...stuckey. i like him, but trading for him in that deal would be crazy.

It's a good salary dump, Prince just doesn't fit where the roster is going. Calderon will be a decent rental for the rest of the year....though he is not going to lead to a 180 as far this year is concerned; the team likely still isn't going to make the playoffs. The real value of this trade will be assessed based upon how the potential salary cap space will be used this summer, or indeed in another trade; who ends up on the roster starting next year will be a great indicator of this transactions' value.

this offense and this coach does not fit his style of play...at this point im not even blaming Frank...im saying you have a scoring PG...he is not Steve Kerr, BJ Armstrong, or whatever PG that just spots up...

He needs the ball in his hand to score...not to set the offense and not to play slow...

Frank style of play will be great for Calderon....

What the heck are you trying to say here? I still don't think Dumars should be GM. But this was a good move. First one in a long time. Nice to see.
