There is a huge way to go before Drummnd could even approach on Lainer. Lainer averaged 20ts 10 rebs over a career. He could post up, high or low, and if you wanted to sag off of him his jumper was reliable out to 18 ft, he shot 51% for his career, which spanned 14 years and carried on after major knee surgery (possibly a career ender in the 70s). Anyway, does Dre have potential, yes. Is Lainer something to aspire to? Maybe but it is very, very, very difficult to tell because Lainer was that polished of a player even coming into the league while Dre is very raw.

Stuckey played horrible to open the season. But Singler slumping stretch has lasted longer than Stuckeys. So he has not out played him for the majority of the year. Take off your golden rim hate glasses you look at Stuckey with Patrick. Everyone else has been just as streaky as Singler, if he starts and gets his 15 to 20 minutes..ok. James Hardin came off the bench still got 32+ min a game. But his slumping is not all his fault, once again the staff of the pistons asks a player to play out of position and learn on the fly. A gamble I don't think this team can continue to afford to make. I think English should take his minutes unless the other team has a big shooting guard. And Singler can also back up the three spot when needed. The rotation should be set now though for the most part. Its flawed but I still like there chances.

Shawn Kemp was my favorite player growing up. I never thought about comparing the two but Dre could mold his game after him. Kemp became the offensive monster though so Dre has a long way to go. But he was the rawest most talented big of his time. And I think Dre can be the same.

Bottom line is Frank won't make any changes to the rotation if we keep winning like this, which is completely fine. Right now you have to go with what works. Kyle is fine starting as long as Stuckey and whoever is playing well that night be it Drummond, Daye, or CV, or Bynum off the bench gets equal minutes.

I do think that Daye should have gotten more minutes in the 4th, ATL started to gain momentum as the bench was getting ready to be substituted in and then the starters came in and couldn't score. But it's okay we won. 4 games in a row, we are 3 games behind Philadelphia for 9th place. We just have to continue winning our home games and beat the bucks on the road, before the London game against the Knicks, which is also a winnable game. Go Pistons.

I like Stuckey as a sixth man, and would prefer him to stay as such for the reason you stated, and although I'd love it to happen, I know English won't get significant minutes, which leaves Daye to man the 2 if Singler doesn't get his sh*t together.

Daye was supposed to be a tall 2 when we first drafted him, there was no talk of him being a PF until his second year. Daye's length would certainly be a mismatch for opposing teams and his hot shooting would mean he would stretch the D, he'd essentially be fulfilling Singler's role but with more of a defensive mismatch and better shooting.

And if we could get rid of Maxiell we'd be interested in a player like Mareese Speights.

That would be a fun experiment. What do we have to lose? Still it might be a situational thing because I can imagine Daye getting torched on D by smaller quicker SGs

I saw Kemp's whole career played and he at the same age (19) was no where near where Drummond is as a defensive presence. Drummond i feel will end up winning multiple DPOY and make 1st and 2nd all defensive teams. Early on in his career Kemp was always missing defensive rotations and when he showed better effort he would foul a lot and end up on the bench in foul trouble. Kemp never made 1 1st or 2nd defensive team. I am not saying Kemp was a bad defender but he also wasn't the best defending PF in history like your making him out to be. Late in his career he'd win the race to front of a buffet line though.
