You have to have one or the other running the offense - either a genius coach or a pass first pg. Dumars wants neither it seems, and that's disappointing because we have the first ingredients to a championship team already - a dominant defensive center in Andre Drummind. I was one of the fans who wanted Drummind while everybody was saying he was a bust. The statheads hated me, now they are all about him

San Antonio and LA had Phil Jackson and Popovich, genius level coaches. Miami had Lebron James, essentially a pass first player.

I don't think Knight will not be successful, but I do not think he will be successful without an elite coach. Even as great as Billlups was he couldnt get past the East again without Larry Brown, another genius level coach.

I'm really excited about all of the rotation tinkering that Frank is doing this year. Replacing starters, giving the bench more time... Not only is this good for most players, it's helps the front office determine our needs. For a bad team, we've been interesting to follow this year.

Maybe Will Bynum should be the coach. He said today that he'd like to see Stuckey running point with Knight at off guard. That'd free Knight up to be the scorer that he should be and send Singler to the bench, where he should be. Also call me crazy but with that lineup and how CV has been playing, I'd prefer to see him starting over Maxiell, though not over Drummond obviously.

This post is kind of funny because I was talking to a friend today about how the only one on the first unit that seems to be able to knock down a 15+ ft jumper with any constancy is Max.

This might be a little over the top, but homers are what they are.

They think Will pulling up with a hand in his face and 22 secs on the shot clock is never ever going to hurt the team, because, get this, it worked for two games.

The truth is Will's style might put a couple of extra wins on the board but it's not going to make us a playoff team and it's going to hurt and hurt bad when Will is cold.

All that being said, you ride this hot steak until it ends and pray it doesn't end for a while.

I would take Ellis over anyone we have at the 2 any day.

SGs are supposed to be volume shooters, the key word there is SHOOTER, not slasher, not play maker, SHOOTER. Heck maybe that's way it's called shooting guard?

Agreed. Knight has a lot of the tools, he just needs to take the game on play at a time. He needs to learn when it's right to pass and right to shoot, and most of all learn to slow down a little and make a good pass instead of running out of control and then trying to toss it out when he gets in trouble. These issues are not abnormal for young PGs.

I don't know that Knight will ever figure those things out but it's way way to early to give up on him. He's played 99 games and didn't start in an ideal rookie env with the crazy shortened season from last year.

I'm fine if starting Bynum wins more games (though I'm not sure it matters), I just wouldn't dump Brandon just yet unless you get something better in return at the PG spot.

I'm not a fan of Will's game but it's working and I hope Frank rides it until it doesn't work anymore.
