Georgio, There was no game with out Will the thrills energy and effort. We were being blown out by 20+ points... Please give credit where and when credit is due, Will Bynum got his chance and made the most of it...

Lets all hope that BK7 realizes that he could lose out on playing time and works harder at not turning the ball over, and developing his game into a NBA point guard.

Bynum's contract is over at the end of this season, so he has a reason to play hard either to stay with this team or put some film out there for another team. If he is traded then so be it, with that being said I say Will the thrill keep playing hard and keep the pressure on our young player BK7. When Bynum and Stuckey are getting the minutes then its my hope that BK7 will work that much harder to get back on the floor and play.

I have also been extremely unimpressed by the times I have seen Monroe play. I always read about how solid he is on here and last year's stats are good, but I see him him and blech. His offense is awkward and makes you go Nooooo unless he scores then you go Yesss (like JR Smith 3 years ago). His pick and roll defense is a turnstile to the Uncontested Dunk Train.

You watch someone like Marc Gasol who is also a finesse passing big man and you see a player playing so much smarter and so much more within himself. Gasol isn't trying to do awkward dribble drives or holding the ball out to be stolen by the first double team or quick swat. Monroe needs to go back to school and step his game up another level.

You say the bench are bums but at what point do they become a better bargain than the starters? Daye is cheap, Stuckey is fairly priced, Charlie knows he has no bargaining power for an extension. Why not hang on to those guys if they are producing and playing with energy?

Word up, Frankie D. Daye hasn't gotten his shot here. Kuester played at the 2 and the 4. Frank played him at the 4. Nobody has ever played him at his natural position, the 3.

However, with Kuester, it looked like he was going to be a rotation player. Hell, it looked like he was going to be our starting 3 but Tayshaun re-signed. And then for some crazy reason, Frank played Wilkins as Tayshaun's primary back-up.

I don't get it.

Went through this discussion the last season and I am tired of it. Regardless, there was a reason Detroit drafted daye and a reason other teams have tried to steal him away for cheap. He has talent. Whether he has the mindset, the emotional makeup to realize that talent is an entirely different matter.
it has always been my view that daye has never gotten the chance that other players have gotten, from stuckey to knight and now, ironically, even Kyle singler. All of those guys have really, truly sucked for long stretches and have always gotten a chance at redemption and a place in the rotation.
singler is the most interesting comparison. He has truly sucked the last dozen games, yet he retains his starting spot. Offensively his shot has almost disappeared and defensively he gets torched as his lack of perimeter speed is no longer a secret around the league. if fans applied the daye standard to singler they would be calling for his benching,
instead...nothing, other than a few stray comments.
Contrast singler's current slump with the stretch that got daye tosses out of last year's rotation - soon after a career game against miami - and the coach's decisions are tough to reconcile.
I have always argued and will still argue that daye has never gotten a solid short here and I believe that he will never get that shot here. Too bad for him and the team.
someeone else will get the benefit of his talent while Detroit fans will have fond memories of Damien Wilkins and Corey maggette to keep them warm.

I agree with you Scott, I was screaming at the TV pass the ball, it was obvious that they were loading up the middle on Bynum but he just charged in there anyway and you have Daye and CV standing behind the 3pt line waving their hands absolutely by themselves. To me Bynum did himself no favors with his performance last night, he was a 5'9 shooting guard with blinders on when he's supposed to be a point guard. He shot us back in the game but he also shot us out of the game.

For everyone talking about how hot Bynum was... He was calling his own number FAR too much for a 3rd string point guard, and thats how he plays irrespective of whether his shot was falling or not. This is just going to provide him the minutes and impetus to continue his me-first style of play.

Bynum may have earned more playing time, but we'll come to regret it (or we would if the Pistons weren't already a lost cause). His confidence is a liability whenever he reaches the court. Case-in-point, Will brought us back from certain defeat, but he also ensured the team lost in the final minutes. In the final overtime, the Hawks defense had finally adjusted on Bynum who played into their hands, by forcing layups when they needed 3s from a wide open CV and Daye.

I'm not saying it couldn't (or wouldn't) happen with the other guards on this team... but it feels like I am the ONLY one that didn't like what I saw from Bynum?

Yeah, I can hit a wide open 3 too, but you don't see me riding the pine for Detroit. I'd say 1 clutch 3 is exciting, but without a larger sample, its just nothing to hang your hat on.
