<p>"It looked like he suddenly noticed the shot-clock was down to nothing and natural reaction is to just throw it up there."

I would be more inclined to buy that if Drummond hasn't done almost the same thing on other plays this season. He really needs to learn that unless he has a dunk, he needs to toss the offensive rebound back out and rest, like Wallace always used to. Too often he catches, panics and goes up for a wild shot. Maybe the shot clock was a factor in last night's, but it certainly wasn't other times.

I would say he has offensive 'skill.' He has offensive potential. The time for him to develop that potential into skill is the offseason. Right now, he needs to focus on working on what he does well -- get offensive rebounds, dunk, run the floor, cut and block shots. Those are extremely valuable things to the Pistons. Tossing it to him in the post is not a valuable use of him. </p>

<p>No one let's him off the hook. I'm sure the beat writers see his deficiencies like all of us.

Their job is to cover the team, not advocate change. And they are right -- both Goodwill and Ellis have essentially said that not bringing back Frank to start a third season would essentially mean Dumars admitting another mistake, something that seems really unlikely considering how much he talked up the importance of his newfound hiring process and his belief that they absolutely need coaching stability here. Frank might not be the right guy, but whether fans like it or not, unless some major catastrophe happens (like Gores getting fed up and getting rid of Dumars and Frank both), Frank is going to start next season as coach. The beat writers are absolutely right to point that out.

Be mad at Frank's decisions all you want, but that shouldn't prevent you from ignoring the reality of the situation. </p>

The sad part is that the Maxiel vs Drummond debate is just a distraction.. Play Monroe 36 minutes per night. Play Maxiel 30 minutes. There's STILL 30 min for Drummond. They're playing CV instead of Andre. And that's sad.

""P.S. Franks isn’t afraid of the vets, and he doesn’t <em>have</em> to start Singler, even if he Stuckey continues to come off the bench.""

It wasnt a coaches decision...Stuckey put himself on the bench ....A good coach would have made that decision. He keeps talking about the integrity of the locker room. Drummond Defense and Rebounding warrants him starting minutes , you can not say you want to be a defense first team with you best hopes for being that kind of team setting on the bench.

Drummond has outplayed, Maxiell in most night

Yes, Bugs, you are correct, except for you and a handful of others, playing hard and losing close games is what everybody wants, including Joe D and Coach Franks. And it looks like the team gets it as well and has bought into the learning and growth grove, too. But also, just like you say, some people, now that the Pistons are playing better and losing, are still upset. They want the high draft choice <strong><em>and</em></strong> they want to win games. That's fandom. But watch, this time next year, everybody will be either singing Frank's praises or else be totally silent.

@Herman if it was just about Drummond not play enough, thats one thing. Ok we are a microwave Culture we want it right now... Drummond being a "PROJECT" never sat well with me...I think the term "Project" is a built in excuse... but anyway.... That not why I Hate Frank..

First off it fels like he is trying to be the 2nd coming over Larry Brown or Doc Rivers... He is not the motivator they were, he just does not have a feel for todays NBA game. In Jersey He had Jason Kidd, Kidd led that team NOT Frank. Since Then what has Frank does? he is a career intern.

I dont trust his defensive strategy, He is trying to mimic what Boston did during their title run, but we do NOT have a KG on the floor as a defensive anchor, not just protecting the rim but talking, or getting in guys faces, or patting them on the head...The Pistons run around the floor chasing the ball, doubling guys LIKE REGGIE EVANS! TWICE THEY DID IT LAST NITE!!! leaving shooter open.... He makes poor decisions, and he does not rotate the right players in at the right time, and he takes the right players out at the wrong time.

we are 7-18 ....Last year I think we were 5-20 ...we are not a better team... i dont blame him for the lack of talent we have, but for not taking advantage of the talent we have.

<a href="http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=bw98l5d" rel="nofollow">http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=bw98l5d</a>

Kevin Love, Derrick Williams, Chase Budinger

for

Monroe, Maxiell and Maggette....

Pros/Cons for Detroit:

Pros: We get a Premier PF Superstar in todays NBA, he can score and rebound, he makes the offense just easier. It also moves Drummond into the starting line up, also of a sudden we have a dominate front court, we add athleticism in Derrick Williams and Chase.... we get younger and more talented.

Cons : Kevin Love is not having his best year offensively, he has been injury prone and if we dont win soon enough he can become dry baby prone, he has a huge Salary for the next 5 years. He does not play in the Post, and it seems like he does not desire to be in the post. Derrick Williams have been disappointing, and we's have him on the book for the next 4 years, so if forever reason this trade doesnt workout. We'd be back in Salary bondage.

Why Minny Does it? Greg Monroe is a Promises PF, although struggling right now, but he is only 22 years old, he had the ability to right away to be a 16-17ppg 9-10reb guy, he alone wont make Minny forget about Kevin Love, but with Maggette, Maxiell and (potentially Austin Daye ).. they would have 17 million dollars to play around with next season.

Why Minny Would not do it? Although Kevin Love is Not an ELITE SUPERSTAR, but he is a Superstar... they dont come around often. They could have 17 million dollars, but if they can't sign a star its useless, and Monroe ceiling probably will never reach what Kevin Love was or currently is
