Calling stucky a borderline all star is asinine. He is an average nba player who belongs on the bench period.

I don't mean that to say Stuckey is bad. He's a proven, slightly above average starter in this league, a rotation player on any team. But I just can't see how he'd ever sniff an All-Star game. It's conceivable he could improve, but who is he going to unseat among East guards? That's a crowded bunch, and I don't think he cracks the top 10 guards in the East overall, even when he's going well.

Are you sure it's such a stretch? Half a season of playing to his potential and he's there with the rest of those guys for a mid season game. It's not like I'm saying Maxiell's a borderline allstar.

This is really Stuckey's last chance to break through in my opinion. The first 8 games make me think he's not going to become more than a solid player...but it's still early and few players on this team have done much this season. Monroe has to have what will likely be one of his top 15 career games to get the team it's first NBA victory...not good.

From Langlois article, on coming off the bench: “I would love doing that,” he (Stuckey) said. “I have no problems. Whatever L wants me to do. I thought Kyle played phenomenal. He did an excellent job and I was just happy to see him go out there and play the way he did. … I don’t care about starting. The only thing that happens when you start is they call your name. Whatever helps our team win. If Kyle is better with the first group, I think he should start.”

He has had some great games against Westbrook. I think the problem is the opposite of how you phrased it -- he tends to only play great in games where he's mad about something or feels slighted or otherwise has some extra motivation to do well. It's the games where he doesn't have some sort of personal vendetta or extra way to motivate himself that are the problem.

"He plays scared when he goes against better competition."

And the examples you give of when he has played fantastically are against Rose and Kobe? I'm confused.

It's not 'hate' to say someone has played awful this season. It's just a fact.

Stuckey has never went for 50 points , maybe in high school and if I'm not mistaken he's only went for 40 once and that was against Rose and the Bulls. Like I said Stuckey has the talent he's just not consistent enough to be a starter. I feel his problem is effort and passion. Sure tomorrow he's going to lite it up probably he might even go a week or two. But that's not because he has love for the game as a Piston. It's because he's got something to prove. He's done this before a couple of years before. I remember him going an entire game without shooting the ball but had about close to 20 assist. He dominated the game setting guys up. And after the game he says yeah I can pass like a point guard ( something like that). At the time I was like Yeah Stuck you showed them but now I realized he was just trying to prove that he could pass the ball like other point guards. If your going to prove yourself do it every day not when you feel the public's picking on you or things just aren't going your way.
