The dunks will come for Drummond confidence and developing more strength will help that. He’s playing with grown men and he’s 19 yrs old.

But on the other end of the discussion I got this off ESPN:

“ Coach Lawrence Frank said before the game that Detroit had been hesitant to use the two big men together because “you don’t take away one of your main cogs and put him in a position of weakness there” but that the Pistons would probably try out the lineup eventually.”

very true. he had a couple of putbacks that could have been dunks and he did not dunk.
i wonder if he was thinking of the cheap shot that o’neal gave him a couple games back where o’neal hit him in the …ahhh…groin, shall we say, when drummond tried to go up for a spectacular dunk. o’neal’s elbow to the …groin is the kind of lesson you don’t forget.

i would still bring him off the bench. it is just less pressure on the young guy.
but, definitely, he needs to play 20+ minutes a game. he just does too many good things.
as i noted, you could see okc looking for him whenever he was in the game. (he must look even bigger in person. i saw greg oden a couple of times out in clubs and i was amazed at how big he was. you can’t see that on tv. i think drummond must give the same impression. he must be a really big person who you can’t help but pay attention to.) defensively, that makes a huge difference.

Don’t be surprised if/when Max starts again. I’ll be OK if that happens but if Frank decides to be really asinine and not play Drummond extended minutes including time with Monroe, I’ll remain dumbfounded.

Drummond can be soo good…but Now imma be critical of Drummond… U have to start dunking that ball when you get under the back…

For a while it seemed that Will Bynum was the only one who knew how to get the most out of Drummond. He plays almost Iverson-like with Drummond – attacking to draw defenders and his shots are almost like passes (when he’s not actually throwing the oop) to Drummond.

In the alternate universe we would be 3-3 if Drummond starts at Center and gets more than 20 min playing time. Isnt that what training camp and preseason for? to experiment different lineups? How could he postponed Dre’s coming out party now? Ridiculous.
