Daye was primarily a 2-3 last season under Frank until he lost his rotation spot early in the season. They didn't move him back to the four until the offseason, when Daye gained back some of the weight he lost.

Patrick, has Daye EVER had extended minutes at the 3? I know early in his career, Kuester played him at the 4 and the 2. Last year, Frank played him the 4.

I never bought into that whole stretch 4 with Daye. He was always a 3 who was tall and skinny like Durant and Rashard Lewis. Not saying he's going to be as good as them, but I believe that is his strongest position.

It's funny how people talk down on CV.
The man is the most proven scorer on our team!!!
Hes been a very good player his whole life until he got Frank as his coach.
Before he was a piston he was considered better than everybody on this roster!
And all of a sudden he's garbage? No way
He's still the best pf on our squad!
Then people say well he's a defensive liability well honestly NOBODY is playing good defense!

[...] • Possibly coming soon to the Pistons’ rotation: Kim English and Austin Daye. Will Bynum and Jonas Jerebko are effectively on the hot seat, and Lawrence Frank is a desperate man. [...]

The Pistons problem with any of those three (Daye, JJ, English) is that the second squad - if Frank persists on playing 10 players - is that you already have 3 potentially offensive challenged players on the court Stuckey, Charlie V and Drummond, then you add a 4th... that could spell disaster in any given quarter. Better be prepared to use the hook QUICK for any and all EXCEPT FOR DRUMMOND - Drummond is not out there for his offensive prowess - when they start clanking the ball.

With that many potential "Clankers" out there, one or two are bound to be "ringing the rim". Good news is Andre puts a high percentage of those garbage shots back...

It's true. Our talent is way too dilute. The problem is that everyone seems somehow promising except crusty old Prince and Maxiell.

Jerebko attempts about 100 3s a year and he shoots about 30%, I wouldn't necessarily call that the hallmark of a distance shooter.

Jonas does most of his damage (other than easy baskets, tip ins, dunks ect) around the amateur 3 line. His % plummets when he takes a few steps back. The Pistons were essentially asking someone to step out of their comfort zone into a role much better suited to Charlie V. Thats not to say that CV31 is the better player... just better on a lineup with 2 slasher/scorers and a defensive prodigy.

With a different GO-TO guy from distance, Jonas can fit comfortably into a 2nd or 3rd option from deep (like Tayshaun on the starting lineup).
