Those are the guys you use to fill out a roster once you have your stars. Detroit needs to get a big time player before shelling out for the little guys you can get with part of an MLE.

Iggy's a long shot, but a possibility. Reke too, but that one is real hard to call because who knows what he'll be worth by the end of the season or how smart Dumars plans to be with cap room. Also, Millsap and Jefferson belong on that list.

The biggest factor in FA signings is how the Pistons do this year, including if they pull a top 3 lottery ball. My sense of the next draft class is that it's not great, but there are some exciting wing players towards the top of the draft. This might be unlikely, and I'd rather this not happen if it required another terrible season from the Pistons.

But it's about as likely as the Pistons signing a top 10 free agent.

Let's save some/a lot of that cap space to extend Monroe. I'm glad Curry's out of the running. His injury problems alone keep me from wanting to see him in a Pistons uniform. Harden would have been awesome, but unlikely.

josh smith, sure. He'd play the 3? With the Pistons officially dismissing "small ball". Starting Smith, Monroe, and Drummond in 2013? That's a monster frontcourt. Detroit, Rebound City. Jonas backing up Smith and Moose... Maybe resign Maxiel (if he has another good season) for a shorter, cheaper contract (7 million and 2 years?) I do like that. Let's keep that on Dumars' radar.

Would love to see them go after tony allen, jj redick, morrow, dorrell wright, eric maynor, beno urdrich, those guys can all be had for minor deals i would thinks. 2-3mil a year. again back up pg and 3pt shooters.

josh smith and tyreke evans...not much has changed after the extensions other than my dream harden-to-detroit scenario.
i just saw aminu's 4th year option was declined by the hornets too. that would make him an UFA after this season right? he could be playing himself into a bigger contract seeing as how he's their opening night starter at SF.

Yea i think trades will be the way for Pistons to use that cap space. There may be some minor signings for specialist, back up pg, another 3pt shooter, etc. I didnt think we would be big players for lawson/curry anyway with knight. Harden i think we would have offered max deal, but dont thnk he wouldve signed with us. Trades will be the way with that cap space, sign and trades as well.

Josh Smith is the only possibility on that list. None of the others fit the roster, or would want to come here if they did.

Still pushing for a down year for Memphis and a Rudy Gay trade.
