My dog has three legs. Her name is Saya. She resents being implicated with Middleton in any way.

He's not playing well. But not exceptionally poorly either.Granted, with this over-crowded roster, "not exceptionally poorly" won't cut it. So he may well get cut, but you don't need to insult the poor guy.

Odds are that if the Pistons didn't take Daye, they wouldn't have taken Lawson either. Obviously, I don't know Dumars' draft board. But it seems that there were a ton of players in consideration for that pick. Daye and Lawson were just two of them. It is hardly a "wrong" when you don't always draft the best future player left when your turn comes up. If someone were able to do that, a rich owner like Prokhorov (sp?) would snatch them up for something like a $25M/yr contract.

"And, I do hear you folks screaming … well why would WE want Gay’s contract"

Tay + Maggette for Gay is a lopsided enough trade, talent-wise, that I can't imagine too many people screaming that. But it is, in theory, a plausible trade. Just because Memphis could otherwise have to pay some luxury tax real soon. And they probably don't want to do that unless they are convinced that they are a serious contender. Also, as poorly as Prince has contributed to the Pistons of late, it is not a stretch to see him doing a lot more for a contender. Basically, on a very good team, Gay isn't worth $10M more unless he is putting you over the top. But here, he could contribute immensely because once this team gets good, he shouldn't yet be all washed up like I would expect of the older Prince.

The way Middleton is playing in SL atm don't be surprised if the team cuts him and keeps Daye as a back-up SF/PF. If i was Middleton i'd be putting my hand up for Europe or the Mad Ants cause he is playing like a 3 legged dog. If Tay is the starting SF and Maggette/Singler get the leftover minutes the thing Daye has in his favour is his versatility even if he isn't good overall at any of those positions. Here is a situation that hasn't been brought up but how about seeing if Daye would be will to play overseas. We all know how badly his Russian campaign went but maybe playing in the Spanish league like Singler just did would benefit him. One of his contractual terms would be that he ate a sh!t load of pasta through the duration of his stay. Thoughts??

How about Daye to Dallas? They've showed interest in Prince before, I know, but things have changed. Seems like a perfect fit to me based on the moves the Mavs have made in the last couple days.
Daye's contract is expiring.
They lost their marksman off the bench.
He comes cheap.

I think the REAL question is, "Will he be around long enough to make more <em><strong>'Daye Walking' </strong></em>videos?".. Thats probably the most relevent thing he's done since being drafted.
