Ben Gordon a no-show at Great Britain’s Olympic training camp

Sportinglife.com:

He will join up with a squad still missing the elusive Gordon, the London-born Detroit Pistons star who has spoken about playing for Britain for several years but is yet to appear in a game.

It was thought that the Olympics would finally be the spur for him to get involved after he was called into the squad, but he has delayed his arrival in Houston and – with coach Chris Finch now making some late call-ups to add numbers – speculation is growing that he may not show up at all.

In a statement on Sunday night, British Basketball performance director Chris Spice said: "Ben Gordon is continuing his training in Detroit and has not yet joined the GB squad this summer. His situation will be reassessed in a week’s time when we will be in a position to comment further.

This has not been a banner summer for current Pistons when it comes to the Olympics. First Greg Monroe was left off the U.S. Select Team, and then something happened with Charlie Villanueva and John Calipari’s Dominican Republic team.

Now, Ben Gordon is making a dog’s dinner and brassing off the Brits.

skip the olympic stuff, lets peak around playoff time while other players are fatigued.
I’m glad they’re skipping the olympics and focusing on training with each other and becoming a good team again.
Pistons don’t get respect anyway. They change the rules when we win championships, leave us off Olympic teams, Dream Teams, etc…
    Whatever

Sounds familiar. He’s been talking about playing for the Pistons for several years too, and has yet to show up in a game for them either. LOL
