I feel like it would be more realistic to trade Lowry for #5 and 14/16 for 8. Lowry is worth more than the 8th pick. The 4 team deal still wouldn't go down, but that's not the point.

Why doesn't Joe D. make a deal to move up to 5 and draft Drummond. He stands out more than the other bigs we could get at 9. Depends on on if SAC would be interested in our #9 pick, and any players on our roster, or future picks. Anyone beside Knight, Stuckey, Monroe, and Jerebko can be traded at this point, no one else has shown enough here in Detroit.

Bynum, Gordon, Villanueva, Singler, Macklin, and Daye I wouldn't miss if they were traded.

Thornton has more value than Prince. The 5th pick obviously has more value than the 9th. Daye has negligible value. No way Sacramento accepts that offer.

Walton has more value than CV (just because his contract isn't as bad). The 4th pick obviously has more value than the 9th. I would guess the 24th pick has more value than the 39th and the 44th combined. This would be a long shot if you removed the 24th pick, but then it would at least be somewhat conceivable.

In other words, too many things have to happen for this 4-team trade to be completed, and each part of the process is going to be difficult to complete by itself, let alone have all 3 transactions completed by Thursday, with a new GM in ORL who is probably nto looking to rush into trading Howard 1 week into his job.

How often do 4 team trades get executed? Not very often

eh, this sounds more like anothet hair-brained scheme by Daryl Morey, than anything thats likely to happen by Thursday night.

Trade Lowry for #8 - not likely

Trade 14/16 for #5 - possible

Trade #5 and #8 for Dwight Howard - very unlikely

I'm not sold on Moultrie because he doesn't seem to take defense seriously. The Pistons need a complimentary big to Monroe and that means a guy that plays tough defense.

You can't trade for a player and then amnesty him, so the Walton scenario wouldn't work. They'd have to keep him or reach some sort of non-amnesty buyout, in which case he'd still count against the salary cap.

The problem for Houston is that both teams have said that they want some veteran leadership more than draft picks themselves. Makes me wonder if Houston would be interested in trading both draft picks to Detroit if Drummond fell to the Pistons. I do think, however, that Milwaukee would pounce on Leonard and/or Henson at #12. Both of them may be gone at #14. But the Pistons might be able to pull off a pair like Perry Jones III and Zeller. The advantage of that is they can take a risk on a potential star (Jones)while still getting more ready NBA talent now (Zeller).
