A large percentage of of what you say is supprisingly precise and that makes me ponder the reason why I hadn't looked at this with this light previously. Your article truly did turn the light on for me personally as far as this subject matter goes.

Since we don't have much of anything to talk about until the 30th, I found this Grantland article that Bill Simmons put together about "Footnote Titles". The Pistons were mentioned a few times pertaining to there own championship in '89 and how they were connected to others.. Thought, maybe, readers would be interested (at least slightly interested) in the read..

I think if Ben retires he is done with the NBA for now. He has a family and a law degree to pursue. So if we get lucky and get a good big man in the draft he can mentor then bring him back on a cheap contract. If we strike out in the draft and get a wing then maybe he will retire with no rookie to show things to (big man skills wise). That said, he could always focus on Monroe's D.

Ben has been a legend in Detroit, no question about it. We will always be grateful to him for his work ethic and effort over the years. If I were in his shoes...I would retire right now, it's clear his best years are gone, his legs are not that fresh and his body is aging. The sooner he does it, the brighter memories. Our youngs have a lot to learn from him in terms of effort, attitude, work ethic... He's still our best deffender though imho. That tells a lot about him. But I think it's time for him to move on and maybe stay with the Pistons in the staff. Would be a great addition to the team as a mentor. What do you think?
