The Pistons will struggle every time Monroe sits compared to when he’s playing. That’s true of every team’s best player. He needs rest sometimes.

no, but monroe could have scored 40 pointgs against jefferson.

you are right…jefferson will stay on the court. but that would have meant that monroe could have had a career night.
as it appeared he was headed for, until frank sat him down for over 9 minutes at the most crucial part of the game.
either jefferson was going to “try” to guard him, and collect fouls or else monroe was going to have a career, dominating offensive night. and the pistons needed scoring against utah. they scored 13 points in a quarter where monroe sat until the 3 minute mark.
idiotic substitution pattern.

As you said, Monroe’s adjustment against Jefferson was shooting mid-range jumpers. Do you really think that was going to get Jefferson into foul trouble? Also, check out Jefferson’s foul rate. He’s not a good defender, but he’s excellent at providing whatever defense he does without fouling. Just because he had two early ones against Detroit didn’t mean would have continued fouling at that rate.

That would be a Feldman special right there. I wouldn’t be surprised if it has never happened before. I will go out on a limb and say maybe Dumars, Thomas and the Microwave have scored 30 in the same game but I doubt it.

the pistons have a huge advantage on the perimeter against the kings.
isaiah thomas is a midget.
the bayou bomber is a nice offensive player, but he’s a horrible defender.
tyreke evans can only do one thing on a court: drive to the hole. although he is really extraordinary at that.
worst defense i’ve seen since the pistons were getting blown out by 30 earlier in the year.
but hopefully frank learns a lesson about riding monroe when he’s hot.

If Tay had two more the Pistons would have had three players put up 30 on the same night! Still, when was the last time they had three players put up at least 28? Fun night.

first game against cousins, cousins got the best of monroe, even though detroit won.
tonight, monroe did what he usually does…he adjusted his approach to an opponent, figured out some things and he dominated cousins tonight.

the pistons did something smart. they went right at cousins after he got in foul trouble and got that 4th foul on him. he had to sit. they should have done the same thing to jefferson at utah.
once cousins went out of the game, a close game got out of hand for sactown.

rodney stuckey!
the kings guards are so bad defensively they had to put thornton, all six two of him, on tay, cause tyreke evans, the SF was assigned to stuckey. at least in the first half.
they don’t know what to do with him now.
he is playing off the ball as much as possible.
tay is playing the point forward with knight out of the game, to allow stuckey to play off the ball.
