I saw Tyshawn play and I was impressed. I didn’t know his stats were that good.
I’d stay away from him for the Pistons though. He doesn’t fit. He’s basically a combo of our combos – a mix of Stuckey and Knight.

He’s definitely undervalued though, I totally agree. He’ll do a team well next year.

I agree 100 percent with you.

I had the same reaction to Reggie Jackson last year. Jackson was a good defender with great shooting percentages for Boston College and was projected second round everywhere. Made no sense, and then OKC took him late in the first round. I think a smart team will do the same with Taylor. Too much potential and production for him to fall into the second, but if he did, I'd definitely take him.

I don’t know much about Tyler but things like 49% fg, 42% 3pt, 17 ppg, 4.6 apg, good defense, plays for a top team in a top conference and 2nd round don’t go together. About all I know. Sounds like a steal if that’s the case.

btw, the weird thing about his shooting is that he really doesn’t look like he’s a great shooter, like a stephon curry or any of the guys who have that smooth stroke on their jumpers. it looks like he’s worked a lot at being competent at making that 3 point shot. and he’s made himself into a good 3 point shooter, even though he is not a good, natural shooter.
i guess he’s kind of a typical young player in a way. he shoots that 3 well, but his shooting from mid-range is shaky and he really doesn’t have a smooth, classic stroke.
he gets so much of his offense in transition that i’m sure his shooting percentages are inflated as a result of all of the lay ups and dunks off the break.

taylor is a nice player.
because of taylor and robinson, i’ve even started rooting for kansas, a team i usually classified with north carolina and duke as teams i’d most like to see relegated to basketball purgatory.
both of those guys could play on any team i’d put together.
he just doesn’t fit the pistons’ roster.
if joe would/could ditch gordon and bynum, he’d be a nice addition, a great energy guy off the bench who could play either position. i think he’d be an upgrade over both gordon and bynum, even if he brings a lot of the plusses and minuses of both. (gordon’s sloppy ballhandling, good shooting; bynum’s explosiveness, lack of court vision; better size than either.) but with the current roster, he’d just sit there and collect splinters.
like i said, he reminds me so much of jamal crawford, but a ballhawking crawford with more speed. if joe could ever dump some of his older guys, he’d be a nice addition.

The shooting is what intrigues me. A guy with his quickness and athleticism who also shoots 40 percent from three is so rare to find. I think I’d take a chance on him even if he does duplicate a bit of what the Pistons already have.
