actually, wilkins has played better than he has previously.
he's been like chicken soup..eating chicken soup when you have a cold can't hurt. .he hasn't hurt anything that has been going on..
i still think the team is better off with daye at that spot. but wilkins has been playing a role on a team that has definitely been improving defensively.

@Frankie:

You were talking about the team's improved D over the last three games. Surely you've noticed that Wilkins, who has 3 steals, 2 blocks and 7 boards in his limited minutes over that stretch, has been playing really good defense off the bench, right?

Curiously asking how much of Daye's rookie deal is he paying you to go in to bat for him Frankie. I don't think he is worth the roster spot but I want to get on that payroll.

please...oh please trade that stiff.
what a waste of a roster spot.
the thing about wilkins is that he doesn't really fill a role on the team.
usually, a vet like wilkins will have one outstanding skill that he brings to the court, something that justifies his presence.
they might be able to hit open 3 pointers, they might be excellent ballhandlers, they might be shotblockers, they might be a low post specialist, they might be, a la reggie evans, a great rebounder, or they might be a great defender. the other parts of their games may be almost non-existent, but at least they bring that one skill and they add something to the mix, in a positive way.
wilkins has nothing. zilch. nada.
he is a horrible offensive player, he has a horrible shooting percentage, his PER is 6.7, and he has a turnover rate that is 3 points higher than his usage rate (14.3/11.7) something that is unusual and very bad.
he plays defense? i guess the way that any player on the court plays defense. he has one of the worst defensive ratings on the team at 109, just ahead of the 110 that tay and stuckey post. about the best you can say about his defense is that he's always in position when the opposing player abuses him. that always makes your own coach feel better about a player. at least they are not blowing assignments and getting abused. he is a coach's security blanket. linus has his little blankey; frank has damien wilkins.
he's useless, a cipher, and the fact that frank keeps putting him out on the court is an indictment of frank.
please get rid of this guy, joe, so other players can get his PT.

I vote no to trading Wilkins because I like how he is the ultimate impediment to Austin Daye receiving playing time!
