Greg Monroe snubbed from Zach Lowe’s Eastern Conference All-Star reserves

Zach Lowe of Sports Illustrated’s The Point Forward picked his Eastern Conference All-Star reserves, and Greg Monroe was one of the snubs he listed:

Greg Monroe, Pistons. The winner of the award for highest PER not to make this team — and likely the actual All-Star team. Monroe ranks 11th in the league in PER, and I’ve already written about his wonderful all-around offensive game. But the limitations of Detroit’s surrounding talent works to inflate those numbers, and Monroe is constantly confused and out of position on defense. That stuff will come with time — as will the All-Star berths.

in my opinion, the only way to justly leave him off of the East All Star Team is to leave the roster void of a backup center. the only center in the east playing better than Monroe is Dwight Howard. also all of the guys who may get consideration based on past seasons (Bogut, Horford and Lopez) have missed games due to injury
