Great analysis.

Analyzing the 3rd screen, I can see why Stuckey was hesitant to try a bounce pass, it could be done but I think Monroe and Stuckey are too close together and with Asik with his right hand down, it would have to be a very good pass. Also in the 3rd screen Stuckey appears to be only looking to pass, making it easy for Asik to anticipate the pass. Really Stuckey's footwork should be such that Stuckey's right foot should be planted, not his left as it appears. This would give Stuckey more options.

I think Asik played this very well, but I think the problem is more that Stuckey has to be further away from Monroe, Stuckey should have taken the ball out wider threatening baseline on Asik, heck I could even then make that pass to Monroe then.

Alternatively, in the 3rd screen Stuckey should have went up for the shot, Asik contests and Stuckey passes to Monroe, another easy pass.

Just goes to show, it is the little things in execution that make all the difference.

It can be taught to some degree, but at this point of his career I doubt he'll develop the court vision. Maybe if he had had a great mentor earlier in his NBA career (Billups more than one season, someone like Kidd or Nash) he could have developed the ability similar to Goran Dragic. At this point he might see the pass or he might not, which is always frustrating!

Good catch on Stuckey's chance to give Monroe a layup.
That emphasizes his deficiencies at the point.

He just doesn't have the vision of the better point-guards in the league. I'm not sure that's a skill that can be taught.

There are worse teams out there than the Pistons, Laser. It is one thing to be realistic. It is another to be nothing but a doom-and-gloom commentary.

Well, I think it's worth writing about when they actually do play decent offense. I'm craving for better execution and I like seeing the small steps forward. And I think the Pistons can beat the Wizards without perfect offensive execution!
