Charlie V. is a damn disgrace; "sore ankle" my ass. Like Big Marv, said, when is the last time we actually seen him run up and down the court in quality minutes?

I forgot that Jerebko is temporarily untradable. But in a hypothetical like this, I don't feel like that matters too much. Just change the trade to 2 months later.

Unless Daye gets more PT (undeserved though it may be), he won't have much value. Probably not enough to get that deal done. That's why I would rather see him playing than Wilkins. Wilkins would have to play absolutely out of his mind to gain any value. If Daye continues to struggle, I guess he could hurt his value a little, but it's low enough right now that I think that is a negligible risk. To have a future in Detroit or to send assets back Dumars' way when he leaves, Daye must establish himself as Peja 2.0.

Why would they possibly want CV? Daye has some desirability but I doubt enough. I don't love the idea of losing Jonas either but I thought it an interesting possibility. And any deal that you would take without a moment's hesitation is probably not realistic anyway.

They wouldn't be able to trade Jerebko until March 1 since he signed a new contract. And based on Lopez's injury history, I doubt the Pistons would deal him for Lopez anyway. Maybe Daye and a second rounder would do it.

Why not Daye/Charlie V? I definitely do NOT want to give up Jerebko, no matter what... And I could see Phoenix being interested in both Charlie / Daye, being they are a score first team..

Even though I do like Lopez and think he could help this team, giving up Jerebko is a NO GO in my opinion.. I'd give them Tayshaun ALL DAY, so that Jerebko can actually move down to the SF position.... But of course, that's never going to happen..

"Who would have thought he would be so soft in the paint"

Anyone who has ever watched him play basketball, since joining the NBA... He's not a terrible player, he's just not on a good fit on a team that has such a lack of defensive minded players. You cannot have Ben Gordon and Charlie V on the court at the same time, unless you have a power shot blocker / rebounding machine on the floor.. Even then, it's going to be tough to play Detroit Basketball. You can afford to have one defensive liability on the court, but when it's your PF - it's just not going to be pretty, unless you are a team that scores 100+ per game..

BTW, with all the complaints about not having a second serviceable big in Detroit, I was noticing that Phoenix seems to have an overabundance. Gortat, Frye, Lopez, and Morris can't all get enough minutes. I'm assuming that they wouldn't part too easily with Gortat or Morris who are a beast and young with upside respectively. And the Pistons don't really want Frye. But what would it take to get Lopez? Daye probably wouldn't cut it...

So Jerebko for Lopez, what do you think? Does Detroit accept? Does Phoenix accept? If so, is it a win-win, win-lose, or lose-lose?

This seems to be a very reasonable deal to me since I can't decide whether it is good or bad for either side on a talent level and the swap better fills both teams' needs.
