Everyone has a desire to win. Nobody likes to lose. But some people behave more professionally than others in the face of bad circumstances. They’re the people we don’t call sore losers.

But yeah, before the last 2 years, Rip was a great Piston.

Yes we owe a great thanks to Rip for his contributions during our championship. However, his action last season was unthinkable. I am a big fan of the Pistons, win or lose. No player is above the team and he should have known that himself. It time for the Pistons to move forward with those who want to play in Detroit! I’ll take a bunch of misfits, who want to be there and play, over super stars who put themselves before the entire team. I wish Rip the very best over the rest of his career. it is time to move on.

Was one of my favorite players when the machine was running right. When it wasn’t, RIP proved to have a love for being a douchebag that outweighed his love for the game.

No. I didn’t say that. But how he reacted to being less productive and playing less was under his control, and it hurt his value. So if his intention was to leave, and several reporters have noted that he’s wanted out for at least the last two seasons, he didn’t do himself any favors by how he acted, even if the roster and his situation were tough. His contract, inconsistent play and attitude all made him pretty close to untradeable.

I don't think anyone has turned their back on him. Most fans are grateful for his contributions. But you can acknowledge his contributions while also admitting that his petulance and poor handling of a bad situation, along with a drop in his production, helped torpedo his value.

He seemed to want out, and deserved to be able to go somewhere he wants to play. I don't think anyone would hold that against him.

Piston Fans, first off isn’t it great to have Basketball again? Anyways Everyone has rights to their own opinion, but gosh I think it’s sad how many Piston fans turned their backs on RIP HAMILTON! He came to the team to help the WIN (which he DID! 04′ Champs where he played a HUGE ROLL as well 3 strong years after that) we all have seen the pistons spiral down the past few years due to many changes but guys & gals wish this veteran player the best and let him go with respect. Rip was mad last year because of the coaching, yes some of his actions may have been dumb, but we all make mistakes. Remember he played most games with heart and piston passion to help us win! Thankfully as everyone else pointed out, now we will see some More CHANGES!:

this is a really great move. This makes room for Austin Daye to be 2 guard.. This is the only way it made sense to keep Tayshaun. It is sad to hear about Stuckey’s attitude, if that’s him.
