Pistons weren’t fans of Terrico White’s work ethic

Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press sheds more light on why Terrico White won’t be back:

But the Pistons weren’t impressed with White’s work ethic and he showed some reluctance at going to the D-League so the Pistons. The Pistons made the decision to part ways with White (life is tough for second-rounders) some time ago, but they had to wait until the new collective bargaining agreement to see if they had to retain him since they didn’t renounce his rights last summer.

That’s great info from Ellis, and it sheds some light on the events of last year with White, whose injury was originally projected to keep him out a few months but ended up keeping him out the entire season.

This makes sense now.  I wondered how it took him the whole year to recover when he was only supposed to miss half the season. Plus, ppl said that the Pistons were the ones that didnt want to send him to the d-league, but it turns out maybe he refused to go.

Looks like all the kid wants to do is And 1 dunk videos. He should join the And 1 tour. Still a wasted pick pick by the Pistons though, to not even get 1 game  of production out of a high 2nd round pick. I get late picks in the 50′s not expecting to get anything, but when you are a lottery team, you do expect to get something out of that high pick in the 2nd round. Because there are usually still late-1st round available there.
