Maybe buying him out makes it easier to make roster moves while remaining under the tax line (like re-signing Stuckey and adding a MLE big man), but the bottom line is that Joe is looking at the same damn roster with the same damn problems unless he changes something. Shame since in another year he would be a tradeable asset, but this is where we're at. This looks more like Joe saving face than anything. I think Stuckey was worth about what Prince ended up getting (with a difference in years offered), but now that Tay has been given ~7-7.5 million it raises Stuckey's price.
