I've considered him an off-guard since I saw him play in Summer League and showed absolutely zero ability to create for others.

a blast from the past. why chad ford of espn has no credibility regarding anything he says about joe dumars. he gave the team an "A-" for their 2010 draft, raving about white:
"With their second-round pick, the Pistons went the opposite direction. White isn't as skilled or fundamentally sound as Monroe, but he is one of this draft's best athletes and has the versatility to play both backcourt positions. If not for his off year, he would've been a potential lottery pick based on his physical tools, so getting him at No. 36 was a steal.
While Pistons president Joe Dumars certainly didn't solve all the team's problems in the draft, he did take another important rebuilding step."

yep, white a steal. taken ahead of landry fields, 3 seven footers who are on nba rosters and several other big men that were obviously worth at least the same look white got. and considering how much detroit needed bigs, it would have been worth taking a look at one of those big guys.
taking white is as bad or worse than passing on deandre jordan, not once, but twice, and ending up with walter "sleepy" sharpe instead.
A- for that draft...a B for this off-season...gee, according to chad ford, dumars is moving strongly in the right direction. i guess we just have to be a bit more patient to see the genius behind all of these moves and non-moves.
fesenko? keith benson?
damien wilkins?!!!!!

... OK? Slightly above average PG's body? Look around the NBA at point guards right now -- Derrick Rose (6-3), Rodney Stuckey (6-5), Deron Willliams (6-3), Chauncey Billups (6-3), Jrue Holiday (6-4), Russell Westbrook (6-3), John Wall (6-4), Devin Harris (6-3), Steph Curry (6-3), Jason Kidd (6-4), Jarrett Jack (6-3), Tyreke Evans (6-6).

6-5 might not be average height just yet, but the trend in guards in general and especially at the PG position has been growing bigger rapidly. White has prototypical size and athleticism for the new breed of PG. He would be an average or slightly below average sized shooting guard and well below average size small forward.
