Clippers wanted Tayshaun Prince badly
Prince staying in DET big blow to Clips; he was their top ranked SF. Not only loved his D but thought he could handle being 3rd/4th option.
Reading between the lines: could the Pistons have gotten Chris Kaman if they wanted him? It appears the Clippers would’ve traded him as part of a sign-and-trade if they coveted Prince so much. The question is, if the Pistons had told Prince they no longer wanted him, would the Clippers have been his next choice?

Can we still trade Prince for Kaman, even if its not a sign and trade?
Do we have to wait to trade Tay now, in any trade?
This is just mind-blowing to think that Joe may have chosen Tayshaun over Kaman, with all the SF’s on this roster, and only ONE big man to fill 4 spots.

Not immediately. Players who are signed to new contracts have a waiting period before they can be traded.

Do you know how long we’d have to wait?

Not sure what the new CBA says. Under the old one, newly signed players could be traded sometime in early December. The new CBA and lockout change that, but I’m sure there will be some waiting period.

If the Clippers had Tayshaun #1 on their list, why did they have Butler #1 in their FA courting order?
They had Butler in twice before Tayshaun even once. Typical Clipper move

Don’t worry, we didn’t need injury prone Kaman anyway…Dumars might have another Center in mind he’s trying to trade for..

I think this move is junk ! We never should of re signed him . We need to try something new . I would of really signed t mac to a one year min. contract let prince go and look for a big man . Oh and not no junk like Brandon haywood ! rather see a rookie big man then that move . As much as I love joe , is he dropping the ball ?

If Gasol is offered a max contract, the Grizzlies will probably match. In other words, there’s not a chance the Pistons could land him.
