Austin Daye to fine himself for negativity
Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:
Daye has admitted in the past to dwelling on mistakes and he said those negative thoughts crept into his head Tuesday night. But he said he has figured out the remedy.
"Me and my friends have just come up with something now," Daye said. "We’re going to get a big jar and every time I clap my hands after a bad play I have to put $5 in the jar. But I told them if I hit a three, I get to deduct a dollar."
What an awesome plan.

No more than putting an elastic on your rest and snapping it as a memnomic.

I like to hear he’s taking action to fix it, whatever works.
Knight seems to be the exact opposite in terms letting one bad play affect the next, he should be a great influence on Daye. Time CV sorry azz out of here as I think hes a bad influence on Daye

Maybe instead of fining him self money he should have to eat a donut instead. 2 birds with 1 stone method :-)

Haha, that could work — but I don’t think his friends would like that plan.

How about turning this into a drinking game? By half time we’ll all be passed out and won’t have to watch him do dumb things when he’s in the game.
For a guy that plays a ton of basketball (he was in every pickup game in the country if you kept up with the NBA this Summer) and whose Dad was a professional it amazes me how often he gets lost on the court.
No doubt he’ll forget to clap after he makes a bad play.
