Austin Daye would consider playing in Europe if lockout lingers

I won’t block quote it because I assume we don’t have many readers who are fluent in Italian, but the publication ‘Sportando’ quotes Austin Daye (albeit without saying where and when they talked to him) as saying he’d consider playing overseas if the lockout lingers.

BallinEurope analyzes why playing overseas could appeal to Daye:

It’s a viable option for Daye, who was reportedly contacted by AJ Milano about the possibility of suiting up for the Euroleague side three weeks ago: his father Darren Daye played Continental ball for eight seasons in the late 1980s/early 90s in France, Italy and Israel, including stints with Scavolini Pesaro (highlighted by a stint on the 1989-90 Serie A champion team), Hapoel Galil Elyon and Pau-Orthez, among others.

If i was Joe i would be paying for the kids flight and make sure he eats pasta every freaking day. He would get smashed over in Europe might i would imagine. Who knows it might toughen him up a little.

Yeah, I imagine they’re all considering Europe. You’d collect a paycheck and keep your game sharp.

    Better than just workouts.

Daye, Knight, White, Singler and Macklin all need to consider playing over sea’s until the lock out is over.  This is part of being a professional, one must choose to keep working at there craft and keep improving.  These young players need to understand that simply making it into the NBA is not good enough.

Monroe, Jerebko, and Villanuvea should be playing over seas also and looking to dominate!
