I don't disagree with that. I was commenting though, on the draft in general from as neutral a standpoint as possible. Just like the 2003 draft class was spectacular (even though the Pistons can't be too happy with it), this draft is weak.

[...] Patrick Hayes, Piston Powered: “The lesson Eastern Conference teams should learn after playing Miami: you can never have too many long, athletic defenders to throw at Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. The Mavs were able to beat Miami in the Finals primarily because they had a parade of active perimeter guys who were always fresh going at James and Wade. Honeycutt will need to get stronger, but he was extremely versatile for UCLA, a good passer and a long-armed defensive player.” [...]

If you're a lottery team, you can complain. The lottery is weak. But teams with late first round and early second round picks should be happy. They have a better chance to get good players this year than in most years.

"Also, now that draft day is here, let’s finally put to rest the notion that this is some sort of historically weak draft. It’s a draft that doesn’t have much star power, but there are plenty of guys who project to be very solid NBA players."
Star power is what makes a draft strong. Solid NBA players are all well and good. But the fact of the matter is that there are always a lot of those floating around. Stars are who change the landscape of the league. The Pistons presently have lots of "solid NBA players" and they suck. And nobody cares how many players a draft produces that crack rotations. They care how many really good players there are (not necessarily superstars, but at least above average starters). That is why this draft is probably really weak.
Although it is hard to say. There are, as always, a lot of unknowns. So only time will tell. But when there is not a single player to really get excited about and three players who may have potentially gone top 5 (Barnes, Sullinger, Jones) dropped out, all the weak draft grumbling is perfectly warranted.

Well, they also have Brad Miller, Luis Scola and Jordan Hill. Possibly Yao if he can ever come back. Possibly Thabeet if he can ever not suck. So it's not like those two would be playing 40 minutes together.

Wow..I would not want to be a Rockets fan if you are rolling Chuck Hayes and Kenneth Faried asyour front court.

Do not get me wrong, they would be badass for a Gus Macker height restriction team
