Woodson was spotted at Detroit Metro Airport on Monday morning and confirmed to the Free Press that he had met with Dumars about the head-coaching position that became vacant when John Kuester, a friend and fellow assistant on the Pistons’ 2004 championship staff of Larry Brown, was fired.
"I thought it was a great meeting," Woodson said Monday night. "I met with Joe and Scott (Perry). All I can do now is wait and see. I thought it was an excellent meeting. I feel good about the job and comfortable with the people in charge, and hopefully I’ll get a chance to come back and meet the owner and take the next step.
Remember when I said not to read too much into the report that Lawrence Frank “blew the Pistons away” in his interview, because that info may have come from Frank himself? Same goes here, when the quote came on the record from Woodson. What else would he say?
Also, great job by Farrell of tracking Woodson down at the airport.
