You’re probably right, though it was a good amount of years ago.. Either route, it would make for one hell of a story line, and and one of the grittiest coaching staffs in the NBA.

I’m not sure that would work. Laimbeer spoke out positively about the trade, supporting Isiah and saying that it was time for the team and Dantley to part, when they were players. There was an interview in SLAM with Dantley a couple years ago and it was pretty clear he was still pissed at Isiah. Not sure if he is/was also angry at Laimbeer, but if he was, there’s a good chance the two probably wouldn’t want to work together.

I’d like to seem him as Laimbeer’s assistant.. Surely that probably wouldn’t be ideal, but he’s currently unemployed. I’d like to think should Bill get the gig, that Dantley would be willing to listen to a proposal.. (Or i could be just living in a dream world..)
