I'd rather remember the Ben that was then see him play a few minutes with a crew that is not worthy to hold his jock strap when it comes to heart, pride, and effort. Ben stayed one too many seasons. Those who fondly remember his terrific defensive strengths have always been inclined to excuse his woeful deficiencies at the offensive end. So without those strengths, he's just kind of out there. He had a great career. Time to turn the page.

Ben was a bit of a feel good story last year, offering up more than most thought he was still capable of. But the fact of the matter is his days are over. Sure he can still have a quality game here and there, but he doesn't have the ability to sustain that level of play for more than a few minutes at a time. He should not be a starter. Shouldn't have been last year either. If you can get 13-17 solid minutes out of him off the bench, great. But don't force the issue by putting him in the starting lineup. He simply can't do it anymore. I don't want to see him get minutes due to loyalty and respect for what he's done in the past. Accept the realities of the situation and use him sparingly, or not at all. Time to move on.
