just because benson played in the summit doesnt mean he didnt play any good competition. coach kampe sets up a murderers row in the none conference and did so especially this year to highlight his senior [benson] against the top bigs in the country. this year and last year benson held his own & practically put up a double double against all of them. the highlight to me was last year when he kept cole aldridge (kansas) to under 8 points & boards.
jujuan is a great player & its definitely a toss up between the 2. theyre both entering the draft with their degrees & have both the same problems coming into it. they both need to put on more weight. jujuan is more of a natural scorer whereas benson is more of a natural rebounder/shot blocker who just happens to have guard skills.

This would be a great second round pick. This kid works hard and improves every year. And he protects the basket.

Wow, guess I didn't realize Benson was that high in BP. As I said though, I do worry that playing in the Summit League, he'll have a bigger adjustment than Johnson at least initially. I'd probably pick Benson as the higher ceiling guy though for sure.

As for LaMarcus, he's a Flint Northwestern kid. I've seen him play quite a bit living and working in Flint. He could always block shots like a demon. He's still working to add some other things to his game though.

Yeah, I agree that Benson needs to bulk up too. And that it's probably a toss-up. I gave Benson the nod because he's ranked 17th in block percentage and Johnson is 86th (Lamarcus Lowe from Detroit is 2nd!).

As an Oakland alum, I love Benson. But he has the same issue Johnson does -- way too light. It's really a tossup between them I think, Benson is a little better offensive player, Johnson has played better competition and is probably a little better shot blocker. I think both guys work hard enough that they will be rotation bigs at some point in their careers.

He wouldn't be a bad second round pick. But, of the two, I'd rather have Keith Benson.
