getting anyone for Biedrins would be great. I think that getting Rip would make a decent rotation in the backcourt and the 3. Between Ellis/Curry/Thompson/D.Wright that would be a good rotation. Ellis and Curry need to get more rest. They play too many minutes. The Warriors need to make some moves and shake up the roster. The 4 years left on Biedrins contract is killing us. If anyone would take him and we get a warm body back that can help us, GREAT!

I agree with Laser. We should focus on sending BG and CV31 out of town. Hamilton is going nowhere and those other two can’t play any D. But they are probably movable pieces.

The point isn't that it's necessarily a credible deal GS would do. It's that it's the type of deal it would take to move Hamilton -- taking back a flawed contract in return that is hopefully a player who is not a wing.

And yes, there would be incentive for GS to do it. Hamilton's signed for 3 years, Biedrins for four. Hamilton's final year is also not fully guaranteed, so they could potentially save $8 million or so by buying out Hamilton's final year and shed the four years on Biedrins deal, which they've been trying to do for about two seasons now.

I wouldn’t mind this deal at all, but I agree Hamilton isn’t much of a good fit in GS. Although, there is always a possibility that moving forward, GS changes the offensive style completely, which could possibly leave an opening for Hamilton. I just don’t see it happening..

I have been chirping about Bedrins to Detroit for a couple years now, having said last year that Tayshaun would have been a perfect straight up trade for Biedrins.. So, given the fact that Hamilton is money wasting away on the bench, of course any Piston fan should welcome this proposal.. It’s tough taking on another big contract, but Biderins has alot of upside – and his shot blocking skills would be more then sought after here in Detroit..

there comes a point where it’s not just a waste of time to come up with these, but actually kind of frustrating to read. GSW’s not doing this deal (rip’s as bad a fit there as he’d be anywhere), the jazz aren’t doing a deal for him. the solution to the rip hamilton problem is to trade the shooting guards we CAN trade and make room for him to play.

Why not, just offer Rip to the Jazz for Okur. The Jazz really are desperate need for a SG of Rip’s caliber and the Piston can use Okur’s size and game.
The salaries a very similar, too.

Half-baked idea; Rip Hamilton/Tayshaun Prince for Andrei Kirilenko and Raja Bell (with an off-the-record understanding that the Pistons will buy out AK so he can return to Utah). Pistons get financial flexibility and Utah becomes a legitimate contender.

Two half-baked ideas make a right: Then trade Stuckey/TMac/Maxiell for DeShawn Stephenson/Steve Novak’s expiring contracts. Dallas would have to eat Maxiell’s contract to get Stuckey and TMac on the wing, but I think it would put them in the conversation for a Championship too.
