Chad Ford’s source in Detroit on Pistons’ trade outlook: "nothing at the moment"

Chad Ford of ESPN:

We thought the Pistons would be among the teams most likely to make a deal before Thursday’s trade deadline, but a source in Detroit says that there’s "nothing at the moment."

Tayshaun Prince has also been mentioned as a possible trade chip, but several GMs around the league seem to be convinced that the Pistons aren’t inclined to trade him before the deadline.

Best-case scenario: After negotiations with the Nets became public, tight-lipped Joe Dumars is playing things even closer to the vest.

Most-likely scenario: Ford has always been plugged in to the Pistons. If he says the Pistons don’t have anything cooking, they probably don’t.

Man this team is poorly constructed.  Please let SOMETHING happen!  To stink is one thing, to take away my hope is another thing entirely.

T-Mac said something like “I wish i had a camera. Everyday there is something worth filming. I have been around some disfunctional locker rooms but this year…………..”

I will not be watching anymore of Will Bynum pulling the Pistons close with great play and then blowing the game with poor decision making. Not only is it so hard to watch, it is totally predictable. Between Bynum and Gordon and Stuckey, you just know somebody is going to make an absolutely boneheaded play.

The Pistons should trade Stuckey and Hamilton to Memphis for Gay (injured or not) and Thabeet. They can have Wallace tutor Thabeet how to play the NBA game without fouling and with toughness. They should also fire the coach and hire (this one will get reaction) Isaiah Thomas for the rest of the season.

The piece Ford wrote for Truehoop just before the one above was actually about how the Clippers are looking for an SF and have plenty of assets they are willing to offer, including 1st rounders, young players like Al-Farouq Aminu and Eric Bledsoe, or Chris Kaman. If Joe doesn’t do that trade, I think it has to mean that either he is completely barred by management from making any moves (which doesn’t make much sense but who knows), or he is completely out of touch. I also can’t understand why he can’t turn McGrady to at least some value – I’m sure someone could offer a nice young player or a late 1st rounder for him. I’d even take a 2nd rounder rather than just watch him leave.

time to clean house… whether by trade deadline or over the summer…  too bad t mac isnt coming back, i thought he would because of the pistons trainer and the fact that detroit gave him a chance and the fans supported him.  if he leaves ill never stick up for t mac again when people bash him.
