they were fielding a bunch of calls about this on the ticket today. it’s crazy to me how people STILL can’t wrap their heads around the fact that there’s such a thing as too many shooting guards, and rip happens to be the odd man out.

i sort of get tayshaun’s and body’s stances on the issue, since they’re loyal to rip and probably think he can help the team… i understand the other side that might think rip’s still a better player than stuckey or gordon, and maybe he still is… but the bottom line is that no sensible NBA rotation can include more than two shooting guards. there just aren’t enough minutes. and we may as well play the guys who are going to be around after this season.

rip’s not going to be happy until he’s out of town, and there’s no good reason to play him another minute.

i think it was pat caputo who said something like: “stuckey only shot 5 for 15 and they still couldn’t find a single minute for rip to play.” this misses the point entirely. it’s not about one game, and trying to ride the hot hand among gordon, stuckey and rip is a lost cause. we’ve tried accommodating all of these guys, and it’s consistently resulted in a .333 win percentage. regardless of the fact that we need to redistribute our resources ($$$) to the frontcourt, we’ve seen WAY more than enough of this particular collection of players.

Just playing bud. Hey i might be off here but i just read that the Clippers are looking to deal Kaman for an upgrade at small forward and they have Tayshaun Prince in their sights.

Then an hour or so later an article oh them signing
Jarron Collins to a 10 day contract was posted.

Its probably rumors as usual but might be something to keep an eye on. I tweeted this to Dan and he thinks this is a deal that could only be done after the sale which is probably correct. Still Tom Gores might work something out with Karen Davidson to get it okayed so the team gets something for Prince. I like a Dalembert type shot blocker next to Monroe but i think a starting center next to Monroe would have to put it in the hoop too. Thoughts anyone?
