Like many, I'm for a Rip for Murphy swap straight up or if we throw in 1 or 2 2nd rounders. But our 1st rounder??? Heck no, unless it is lotttery protected than I might think about it. But if this trade goes down as Dan said, then it has to be the largest trade in NBA history insofar as the amount of players involved.

Wow i'm late to the party yet again! If the Nets could somehow keep Humphries in this deal they would be pretty darn good. Billups, Rip, Melo, Humphries, Lopez. Not too bad. Not good enough, but definitely not bad. I have no faith in Dumars here unfortunately. He probably wouldn't pull the trigger on a Rip for Murphy swap straight up. I just don't get it.

who the heck is absorbing all this salary anyway? billups, rip, melo, and harrington combine to practically make the entire cap.

[...] there could be potentially 12 players involved in this deal before it’s all said and done. Dan Feldman of True Hoop blog Piston Powered also offers some terrific potential breakdowns to demonstrate exactly how many players need to move [...]

I understand on trading for a salary dump. But heck, why not just get Billups to be traded to the Pistons. Instead of hamilton, I'd trade Gordon to the Nets and Billups comes to the Pistons. Since we need a PG. With Billups back, hamilton should be a better player. I don't think Gordon is better than Hamilton, all he can do is shoot, and right now his shot is off.
