joe’s stubborn and a fool. he thought tayshaun, stuckey and rip were too much to give up for rondo and allen. that would have been such a coup for us it’s disgusting. i mean, sure, on a talent-for-talent basis, the deal probably favored boston slightly at the time, but joe gets credit for being some kind of genius for some reason.

anyhow, rip’s an albatross and a major drag on the team (and will remain so as long as all we run are isolation plays), stuckey’s stuck out of position, and what exactly is tayshaun going to bring? rondo fixes half our problems, ray allen’s expiring contract might have taken care of the rest. sigh.

Has there ever been a player that has averaged 17 assists per game over the first 4 games? If there has then my guess is that it was either Magic Johnson or John Stockton. All i can say is if Rondo starts hitting his mid range and 3 point shots consistently then look out. He still reminds me of Steve Urkle though :-)

I would love to watch a Celtics game with Joe Dumars and ask him what, exactly, he thinks Stuckey does better than Rondo.
And there are people who will say “Rondo wasn’t that good when the trade was offered.” Total BS. He’s been better than Stuckey every year since his rookie year, and he’s significantly better now. Might be MVP-level better.

I wonder if Boston would still be interested in that Prince, Hamilton, Stuckey for Rondo, Allen trade. More importantly, i wonder if Joe would do it.

McGrady out for the rest of the game with a “sore knee.”
Also, Mickey York said at halftime that Rodney Stuckey was having “another big game.” I guess 11 points on 4-12 shooting with an assist and 2 turnovers qualifies as “big” now. Give that man Mike Conley money.
And also also, I’ve never seen a halftime show get so much mileage out of one highlight. A steal and pass from Prince to Daye for a layup. They showed it four times and Cleaves and York kept talking about it like it was four different plays.

like to point out another case of game mismanagement by Q. End of the second quarter, Pistons have a foul to give with under 6.5 seconds to go. They do not take it and the end result is a Rondo three.
