Detroit Pistons mentioned in ESPN’s Team Turnaround Summer Forecast

Count Kyle Weidie of Truth About It.net among those who at least sort of, kind of believe in the Pistons. From ESPN’s Team Turnaround Summer Forecast:

The Pistons might become a fashionable pick, even if Tracy McGrady isn’t a factor. Detroit has talented players — it just needs some of them to step up and stop underperforming (looking at you, Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva). The Pistons are a bit young. But if point guards Rodney Stuckey and Will Bynum perform well, their defense gives effort and if Joe Dumars can resolve the Tayshaun Prince situation, they could find themselves in the playoff picture.

So, that’s the good news. The bad news – unless you’re like LeBron James and keeping a list of everyone who slights you – is the Pistons didn’t get any actual votes for Team Turnaround. (But they got one for Team Turmoil.)

wtf is the tayshaun prince “situation?” joe needs to trade him and get some value, but it’s not like tayshaun is burning a hole in the roster. i’ll be damned if i can figure out how rip’s going to play with all these combo guards, so there’s certainly a major “situation” there, but this sounds like tayshaun doesn’t fit and needs to be traded, which is not the case. that’s the case with rip.

I read rumors that Carmello Anthony might try and force Denver to trade him before the start of next season.

If Denver trades Anthony and then looks to rebuild wth expiring contracts we could offer them Prince for Billups. It works with trade machine.

The other guy to go after would be Nene for Prince.

Either move solves one of our holes. Obviously Stuckey goes back to SG and Hamilton becomes even more expendable. I don’t care if anyone laughs at this proposal but if the opportunity was to present itself then i would hope Joe at least looked into it.
