DDT, White looked a better in the half-court than I thought. And Monroe looked more comfortable on the fastbreak than I expected. So, combined, I’m a little happier with the White pick than I was before.

Hey, All,
in a previous post (Grading the Pistons 2010 Draft), I disagreed with Dan Feldman on the White pick. I graded taking Terrico White as an A+. How else can you grade taking “a consensus best athlete in the draft” in the second round?!
As much as I like Will Bynum, he’s only listed at 6’0″. (Yes, I’ve heard of a guy named Isiah Thomas. He ain’t no Thomas.) His NBA shelf life is limited and expiring, while White has a tremendous amount of potential and upside.
If this were 2003-2006, and the Pistons were legitimate potential champions, then you go with Bynum over White every time. But are we potential champions in 2011? Sadly, nope.
You’ve got to dump the guys who aren’t leading us to The Promised Land and see what the next generation has. You know what Bynum will give you – a nice fifth guard on a championship team. Do you keep that over developing the potential of a Terrico White on a sub-.500 team? I don’t think so.

He had nothing for Caracter. I guess I’d just prefer to see a guy like Reiner, who may actually have a chance to make the team and help a bit, get those minutes.

OK, after re-reading, I see what he meant — something along the lines of "Monroe's passing ability was the most hyped up part of his game before the draft, but it's legit." Just clumsily worded. But he still deserves to be made fun of after this lede: Basketball in July? In Las Vegas? "It's an idea that probably doesn't seem to make sense at first, but it's a concept that personnel evaluators put a lot of stock in year after year with the NBA Summer League." I actually thought that Mac Kowshal played really well. He was the only Piston banging inside and grabbing boards. He didn’t display a ton of skill, but I’d like to see him get more playing time the next few games to see what else he can do.

This is what Ted said. I think you forgot to read the “it’s legit” sentence to take the first one in context.
That part of his game wasn’t hyped up at all. It’s legit.
