Jay, I think you're pretty right-on about Cousins. He has the size and fore to beat up the many teams that don't have legit centers. But against the league's best, he'll crumble.

Still, despite that, I think he has too much talent to pass up at No. 7. It's worth the risk at that point.

I like Wesley Johnson OK, and if he falls to No. 7, I think Detroit takes him. But because he plays a position the Pistons already have filled, I don't think he's good enough to trade up for.

Trenton, I don’t think the teams ahead of the Pistons in the draft value Hamilton or Prince highly — maybe Prince, but Detroit would have to take back a long-term contract. Chris Kaman isn’t a free agent, either.

I am so glad your not the GM of the Pistons. Your plan transforms the Pistons basically into the LA Clippers. I pray to God that Dumars doesn’t draft Cousins! He has so many red flags and the biggest is his lack of athleticism. Sure he may do good against most teams but when he has to play against D Howard, Paul Gasol, Andrew Bynum and Kevin Garnett he’s going to be none existent. Dumars should do whatever he has to and try to move up to get either Wesley Johnson, or Derrick Favors. I know we have many 2′s and 3′s but Wesleys #’s in college are incredible. I’m sure Joe D can find a new home for Hamilton, Gordan or Prince. If Derrick Favors were to be selected than he only need trade Hamilton.

E, Villanueva makes about $7 million per year. That's not All-Star money. Teams would love to get All-Stars that cheap.

Trading him to a team with cap space and not taking any salary back (would never happen, but let's go with it for a second), wouldn't clear enough room to sign Amar'e. Plus, there is absolutely no way the Wizards would trade the No. 1 pick for Stuckey.

Josh, Aminu can probably play power forward at times, but he wouldn't provide the interior presence Detroit needs. He'd be a three masquerading as a four -- which is OK at times. But aside from Ben Wallace, who might not still be around, Detroit will likely be playing a four at the five. In that situation, it's really troubling to have Aminu playing the four.

And Charlie Villanueva is 6-foot-11, 232 pounds. He's not undersized as a power forward. He might might play inside like we'd like, but he has the size to do it effectively.

Odeh, the rumors are that Dumars has been aggressive about moving up. You can't be aggressive and not talk to anyone. Although neither account might be completely wrong, either the media reports and/or Dumars' statement are at least partially off.

It seems like Cousins is the target, but word seems to be Dumars likes Favors, too.

Some believe Aminu can play 4. Maybe but the Pistons already have too many undersized Power Forwards: Maxiell, Villanueva, Summers, Jerebko and maybe even Daye.
More importantly Aminu’s primary asset was supposed to be his athleticism. But he tested very average in that department at the Chicago Combine.

Joe said no not yet to that question but the question was followed with the question “is it because its too early” and Joe says yes, teams are still working out players before they know where they stand. So I still believe he has every intention of moving up and getting Cousins. I do not think he is too high on Favors.
