Jerome, that's a solid front court. I'd like to see those three together, too.

How can anyone think of trading Rip? Well, he has a sizable contract and plays a position where the Pistons have a younger and better option in Ben Gordon. I like Rip a lot too, but the reality is, as soon as a reasonable deal presents itself, Dumars needs to pull the trigger.

Thomas, Dumars and Johnson could all play point guard. Only Stuckey of the current group can. That makes a three-guard rotation much tougher to pull off. Plus, what happens to Bynum, whom the Pistons apparently want to keep?

The Rake, I guess it defines cornerstone. The type of player who can carry a team? No, I don't see that from Monroe. A top-three player on the team? I think he could be that. I expect him to be much more than a role player.

Joyce, I agree the Pistons have quite a few players who might be answers. But there are too many question marks to believe all of them will be. It's still an ongoing process figuring out which can stick. Once that's completed, then the Pistons can really look at contending.

As far as the enthusiasm, I expect that to pick up in a season where half the team isn't hurt every night. If it doesn't, Kuester won't be long for the job.

Travis, where did you see that report? I find it hard to believe, because why wouldn't she just OK the deal and then say Boozer can't be re-signed. That would've cleared Hamilton's contract from the books.

Lucastim, it's easy to call Gordon and Villanueva underachievers now. But could you say that last summer. And yes, it's a big class, but I don't think Detroit would've had much of a chance recruiting the premier players. As for the next tier, I suspect it won't be long until you're calling many of them underachievers, too.

Its easy to be optimistic when you get a big at 7 and wanting a guy to do great things and analyzing his #'s and on and on and on. He's not a cornerstone, but hopefully he's a piece. We really don't know. We also don't know how this roster may look in a month, at the start of the season or at the trade deadline. I would've loved to have Cousins, but Monroe seems to be a nice player. Now we need more, simple as that.

Who ever the pistons pick will be better than Brown,Wilcox. We need guys who are exciting and confident in themselves. We have some good players on our roster and the coach needs to learn who to play and when. Putting the right players on the floor will be the final straw of the team. We got the center and Ben is a backup, now we need a back up power forward. Charlie should start and the point guard is up for grabs. I just hope they will play with more enthusiasm then last season. They were just so boring to watch.

Well there was some report a few weeks ago that the Joe D had a trade for boozer for rip last offseason. However Karen Davis overruled it because she thought it might be harder to sell the team if Boozer signed a big money extension. So signing Gordon explains that. But Charlie V was just a bad move.
