Mike, Cousins might be high maintenance. But so was Rasheed Wallace, and he was worth the trouble. You know else can be high maintenance? Richard Hamilton. You just can't avoid high-maintenance players at all costs and be successful in the NBA.

I'd like to see Prince and Hamilton retire as Pistons, too. But they're 32 and 30. They have a lot of basketball left to be played. You can't run a team for the next 5-to-10 years based on loyalty to two players who aren't as effective as they used to be.

Flinch reaction could be that Cousins would be great in Detroit, then you read Bilas' reaction that Cousins could be- could be- high maintennance and needs a lot of tending. Not sure Detroit needs that, especially if they have to pay Prince to get it. I'm sure Billups was fine ending up his career back home, but my thought is that the Piston's core that revived the organization, namely Hamilton and Prince and Big Ben, would like to- and deserve to- retire as Pistons. Reward for carrying an organization is why Joe D's jersey along with a #11, 40, and 15 hanging in the Palace ceiling right now.
