C'mon are you guys all serious? The Pistons were 11-12 at one point and had a 5 game winning streak with Chucky Atkins at the point. There's no way to say but they were close to .500 20 games in dealing with injuries and then Rip came back, and then Prince, and then Big Ben went down, and Gordon and CV never amounted to anything. Healthy or not they would have been in the exact same position. They never suffered a major front court injury and they had the backcourt depth to absorb other injuries. So they stink because they stink. 13-41 since mid-december.

It pains me to say but I never had high hopes for this team and as they faded my interested for this particular Piston incarnation faded. I thought the playoffs were possible but only because of an underestimation of the east. I´ve been enjoying the Bucks this season a lot more, because they have a defensive identity something the Pistons lack even though they brought Big Ben back who was the only positive (well along with JJ) this season.

Natalie, you think a few injuries was the ONLY thing keeping this team from going past the first round or two in the playoffs?? Are you KIDDING me? I understand it's typical for "homer" writers to look for the postives, but I think you need to lay off those funny little pills. This team is obviously not playoff material right now.

All of my favorite Pistons writers in one place! Love it! I'm throwing my hat in with Mike Payne, where it's been since August. This team needed every single thing to go perfectly this season to have a shot at .500 (i.e., mediocrity). That rarely happens in the Association, and it didn't happen for us this year.
