Game Review: Ben Wallace needs to accept responsibility

I love what Ben Wallace brings to the Pistons. If he wasn’t on this team, it would be the Nets.

And I’m OK with him being a subpar free-throw shooter. It’s not fair to ask him to excel at everything.

But he should be better than he is. It’s a mental block, and if he wasn’t too stubborn to admit it, he might have a chance to improve from the line. He’ll never be a great free-throw shooter, but he could make 50-to-60 percent.

The Spurs went to hack-a-Ben earlier in the week, and he didn’t take it well. From Chris Iott of MLive:

Wallace threw his headband to the floor as he made his way to the bench.
"It’s garbage," Wallace said when asked about the strategy.

Wallace was asked how he felt about Kuester showing confidence by leaving him in so long while the Spurs employed the strategy.

"That’s garbage, too," Wallace said, then quickly ended the interview.

That’s unacceptable.

Wallace needs to take responsibility for his shortcomings. I’m going to sleep, but when I wake up, I hope I read about Wallace taking a different tone after tonight’s game.

Come on; the person who needs to accept responsbility is Rip Hamilton…His mental errors and missed shots are rally killers…Look at the real stat of any game–the plus/minus ration…Hamilton usually has the lowest ratio of any starter…Dumars made a horrible mistake by  not dumping him..Pistons could have had a draft choice and cap room..Oh well..

come on guys theres alot more wrong with the pistons than just rip and wallace they get rid of ther best pt gaurd and keep a shooting gaurd for the pt and prince wont get physicl in the paint so lets be honest they need a power forwad and a pt gaurd  but all they have on the team is shooting gaurds until they address these needs its not going to matter what ben and rip does becouse there not going to be that good p.s. and the often injured gordon was not the answer and anyone that thought he was is just kiidding there self

Ben does not suck!  Have you been watching this year?  He’s the only pistons that’s giving everything he’s got.  Despite their record Ben is having an awesome season.

Being the Nets is a bad thing?  I’d take their franchise center, handful of quality young players and cap space over Detroit’s collection of bad contracts, Stuckey, and rookie SFs anytime.  Neither team is making the playoffs, but the Nets will have a high draft pick, plenty of cap space and many other assets.  The Nets have hit bottom, the Pistons are still waiting to get there.
