Fox Sports Detroit drops two Pistons games

Fox Sports Detroit won’t televise the Pistons’ games at Golden State on Feb. 27 and March 13 at Atlanta, according to Dave Pemberton of The Oakland Press. FSD will broadcast two games ESPN dropped — Dec. 9 vs. Philadelphia and March 21 at Cleveland.

This has been such a miserable year for the Pistons. When’s the last time a regular-season Pistons game wasn’t televised? I vaguely recall a playoff game not be televised in the last few years. Does that ring a bell to anyone else?

There was a playoff game I think two seasons ago that conflicted with the TNT sched and it was on NBA tv.  This really sucked, because at the time NBA tv wasn’t easily found.  I was living in Boston at the time and was super pissed because NBA tv was only on satellite tv, and I had cable.  Not by chance, that was the last year before I got DirecTV and the NBA Season Pass.

They dropped a game against a decent team like Atlanta?  I’m glad they decided to broadcast tonight’s game against Minnesota then.  George Blaha cannot be happy about this.  FS Detroit = BS Detroit.

The funny thing is the Pistons aren’t THAT terrible this season, but coming off of nearly a decade of great play, filled with play-off appearances, six ECF appearances, two trips to the finals and a championship, ya this is bad.  Last year made this look inevitable, and all the injuries really started Detroit off on the wrong foot.  Still, I don’t believe things are nearly as bad here as they are in Minnesota, or have been in the LA Clippers organization forever.

Mister Horse, you’re definitely right. The perception is worse than the reality because of Detroit’s past success.
